Projects!

It seems that when I need to work then I do exactly that.  Very little seems to get in my way as I put needle to thread.  Good for projects although the family seems to feel a little neglected after awhile.

Both of these projects are for the Wild Rose Quilt Shop and Retreat.

The next is a Binder Cover.  Please excuse the photos.  Yes, they are bad but after dark it is horrible taking photos at my house!!

I used the Vine Creek layer cake from Moda.  I’m not exactly partial to the dark colors but it turned out really nice.  I’ll adjust the measurements for different size binders and will find another, brighter, layer cake to use.

On the left flap of the binder cover there is a pocket.  I stitched a section to hold a pencil or pen.  Isn’t it always the case that you find yourself awkwardly holding a pen or pencil when you’ve got a binder??  Also, the smaller compartment is good for name badges, small leaflets and notebooks.

This was an easy project!!

More Offerings…

I’ve been working on a lot of fun little bits and pieces, plus quilting some…of course.  :o)  All of these projects are from Moda’s Bake Shop (link here).  I’ve had a lot of fun exploring all the projects.  I’ve got a lot of charm packs, jelly rolls and leftovers and these have been great to use these up!

Here are my offerings…

(ew…bad photo…I’ll try again in a moment!)

And, one last fun bit…

One big...one small, the pillow and the pincushion

With the pillow I’ll be putting a button and a tassel in the middle but first need to get the right size needle.  (P.S. the pincushion is sitting on top of the pillow!)

Happy Quilting!

Lunch Bag!

I’m happy to say that I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. Just got sick instead!
So, the day after the sickness left, I woke up with an idea.

Lunch Bag

What do you think?  I’ve been dinking around with a bag I recently learned.  Made it bigger and wider, added a closure and…

Lunch Bag...Inside

Pockets!!  It has stabilizer to make it sturdy.  My re-heatable lunch container fit inside with a large water bottle, empty mug (for tea) and banana.  In one of the pockets I put two bags of tea and a fork with plenty of room to spare.

Needless to say, I had a lot of fun and am quite proud of myself for being clever enough to put it together without a pattern!  The button is really cool…I should put a close-up pic!
